Silicone rubber roller is a saturated nonpolar rubber based on silicon element obtained from Shi Ying and formed by silicon atoms adhering side chains such as methyl and vinyl. Different side chains will lead to different characteristics of silicone rubber. Methyl silicone rubber (VMQ) is a kind of silicone rubber material which is widely used.
Silicone rubber roller has excellent heat resistance, low-temperature elasticity, particularly excellent oxidation and ozone resistance, high air permeability and selectivity to gas permeation. Good electrical insulation (volume resistance greater than 10 Ω cm, breakdown voltage above 30kv/mm), corona resistance and arc resistance. However, by adding conductive carbon black, nickel powder, aluminum powder and silver powder, proper conductivity can be obtained (the volume resistance can reach 5-0.02 Ω cm).
Silicone rubber roller has low surface energy, hygroscopicity and isolation function. Water resistance, but poor water vapor resistance. It is not recommended to use when the pressure exceeds 50psi. Compatible with most oils, chemicals and solvents.
Generally, silicone rubber has good acid and alkali resistance, acceptable polar solvent resistance, and no resistance to alkyl hydrogen and aromatic oil. It is not recommended to be used in most concentrated solvents, oils, concentrated acids and diluted caustic soda solutions. Special silicone rubber also has radiation resistance, flame resistance, oil resistance and other properties.
It has low tensile strength and weak wear resistance, so it is generally not used for dynamic sealing.
temperature range
From-60℃ to 225℃, the high temperature of special silicone rubber can reach 300℃, while the low temperature can reach -100℃. (TR10 can be at -100℃)
